Huge changes have led Canuck Racing in new directions. After acquiring Rayan Ioannidis, the team clearly sought to make an impact in the sprinting sect of OCM. Now, Canuck Racing has completely abolished its ties to climbing aspirations and directed its attention to sprinting.
After weeks of negotiation and bargaining, Andrew Cantarutti managed to strike a deal with Division 2 team Flappende Fietsers. In exchange for climbing captain Spencer Paterson, the team received sprinter Lyndon Glasco. Glasco, a highly competent flat road sprinter, was acquired as a veteran lead-out/captain in an attempt to compliment Ioannidis.
Glasco, having a history of moving from team to team, has had temperament issues. However, the team believes that his fiery attitude will only push them to ride harder and stronger. Lyndon was an original member of brother-team HC Alpine who has already complimented Cantarutti for bringing the talent back under Canadian representation.
"I'm absolutely stoked to be riding for a Canadian team again and I hope that I can help in Rayan's development. He's quite a speedy rider," said Glasco in an interview following the trade.
Lyndon will help Canuck Racing advance in the sprinting world and OCM is excited to see the development of newly acquired rider Anton Backman.
More to come in the near future.
